About Liane Ricci

Artist, teacher, and the voice behind Artful Being

Where This Work Began

Liane Ricci is an artist and teacher whose path has moved between studio practice, design, and contemplative creative work, eventually giving rise to what is now Artful Being. Alongside her studio practice, Liane has guided both children and adults through creative and meditative experiences that support emotional grounding, self expression, and a deeper connection to inner life. Over time, she began to see creativity not only as artistic output, but as a way of listening, regulating, and remembering who we are beneath pressure and performance.

That understanding became the foundation of Artful Being.

Artistic Training and Background

Liane Ricci is an award-winning artist and the founder of Ricci Studio, known for its bespoke hand-painted and printed wallcoverings. With a background in fine art and recognition from the Interior Design Awards and international design publications, her work blends refined craftsmanship with a distinct creative voice. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally for more than two decades and are included in the U.S. Department of State’s Art Bank collection.

Trained at the Art Students League of New York, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and Hartford Art School, with a fresco painting intensive in Italy, her practice is shaped by both classical technique and intuitive inquiry, with a sustained interest in how art supports inner life through meditation, symbolism, dream imagery, and embodied creative practice.

Artful Being

From Art Practice to Artful Being

Artful Being did not begin as a business idea. It emerged from Liane’s own need for a different kind of creative space.

After years of working as a professional artist and designer, she experienced firsthand how easily creativity can become tied to performance, pressure, and external expectations. She began developing practices that helped her return to a quieter, more intuitive relationship with making. These practices combined meditation, intuitive mark making, color as sensation, symbolic imagery, and reflective writing.

Over time, this way of working began to take shape. What started as personal practice slowly became something that could be shared. Artful Being grew from the recognition that others, too, were longing for a quieter, more intuitive relationship with creativity.

Teaching and Guiding

Liane’s approach to teaching is rooted in presence rather than performance. She creates environments where people feel safe to slow down, explore, and listen without judgment. Her work supports both experienced artists moving through creative blocks and complete beginners who feel curious but unsure where to begin.

She does not position herself as someone who has answers to give. Instead, she works as a guide, walking beside others as they reconnect with their own rhythm, perception, and inner knowing.

This orientation shapes her coaching, her classes, and The Artful Being School.

Artful Being

A Turning Point

There was a time when Liane felt disconnected from her art, her center, and the deeper part of herself that had always guided her. She began reaching for anything that felt real. Small rituals. Sketches without purpose. Words that felt truer than the thoughts in her mind.

She did not set out to build a program or a brand. She was trying to find her way back to herself.

Over time, these small lifelines became practices. Practices that helped her listen again to the body, to intuition, and to the quiet knowing beneath mental noise. Artful Being emerged from that return. Not as an answer, but as a living practice. A reminder that we can come back to ourselves through creativity, stillness, and trust.

This work is not about doing things perfectly. It is about staying close to oneself, even when things feel unclear or messy. Creativity becomes a way home.

What Guides the Work

At the heart of Liane’s work is a simple belief: creativity is not something we produce. It is something we listen to.

When people are given space to quiet the inner critic, regulate the nervous system, and turn attention inward, expression begins to move naturally. Art becomes less about improvement and more about relationship. Less about outcome and more about awareness.

Artful Being exists to hold that kind of space.

In a world that constantly pulls attention outward, this work offers a way to return inward, across ages, backgrounds, and levels of artistic experience.

Artful Being

In Her Own Words

"I’ve always believed that we are vessels for something greater.

That art is more than expression. It’s a language between the soul and the universe.

I created Artful Being because I needed it myself. I needed a place to return to presence, to create without pressure, to trust my own voice again. And I needed a way to listen; not just to my thoughts, but to my body, my spirit, and the quiet knowing beneath it all.

I’m a working artist, a spiritual explorer, and a creative coach. I’ve built a career in design and fine art, and I know what it feels like to lose your connection to inspiration; especially when life gets heavy.

This is not about self-improvement. It’s about self-remembrance.

You don’t need to be fixed. You just need space to listen.

I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m here to walk beside you as you remember your own rhythm.

Artful Being is a reflection of that belief; a place for creativity, consciousness, and compassionate coaching to meet."
